CONTEXT...

To believe in Democracy is to celebrate the other side winning as much as you celebrate your own victories. Because DEMOCRACY is about the voice of the people. Every person with an equal voice. Every person being heard. Believing in Democracy is believing in POWER of PEOPLE to vote...not trying to gain POWER by winning an election at all costs. You will know if you believe in Democracy if you are willing to drive someone to the Polls who will vote differently than you.

Sadly, Democracy is being corrupted today by "political game theory" -- how do we WIN and WINNING is all that matters. We have SO MUCH taken democracy for granted that we are at risk of losing it -- not because someone is going to steal it from us, but because we don't really cherish it. Democracy is about EVERYONE having a VOICE, everyone speaking with that voice, and those voices being heard. Any efforts that make it harder to vote (for legal voters), and any efforts to suppress the vote (telling people their vote doesn't matter) is an attack on democracy. If you love democracy, you would drive someone to the polls who is going to vote for your opponent!
